About Me

Welcome to Marc Pelland’s Blog and Flash Developer Portfolio.

Marc Pelland

I am a Senior Interactive Developer currently working at Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Boulder, CO. I started here in November 2008 and am very happy being here in Boulder and working with an amazing team and world-class clients.

Prior to CP+B, I was a Flash Developer at Critical Mass in Calgary, AB. While there I worked on accounts incliding Dell, Rolex, Mercedes, Hyatt, and others. I was there for two years, after I decided to pack up my life in Toronto and move out to Calgary. Before my time at Critical Mass, I was working at a great agency in Toronto called Trapeze. I was a Web / Flash Developer and had the opportunity to work with some amazing people and enjoyable clients.

I have been in the web industry since around 2000 when I was doing independent web development and design work for small companies in and around the Toronto area. In 2002, I enrolled in the Digital Media Technical Production program at Seneca College which expanded my knowledge-base exponentially. While there I learned about 3d, video, imaging, and much more. Coming out of Seneca, with the passion that I discovered, I knew that I was going to be a developer for the rest of my life http://www.tadalafilgenerique.org/.

After graduating from Seneca, I ended up assisting in a Game Development course and tutoring the students from the program that I had just finished, as well as working with a team to develop a mod for Unreal Tournament. During that time I was also developing my own skills by continuing with small-scale freelance work, trying to break into the role of Flash Developer.

It did not happen overnight; I worked at a company called Teranet as a webmaster for a portal for lawyers. There I learned a ton about web-casting, encoding video, and working with different web technologies (JSP mostly). Throughout my stay there I tried to absorb as much knowledge as I could. After two years, it worked and I got picked up by Trapeze.

Cheers,

Marc Pelland
